OK here is my contribution:

99 all and c900 to 1985 [solid front rotors, sliding-type caliper, solid rears]
Upgrade 0: all stock pieces, rebuilt or new calipers, working correctly.
Upgrade 1: rebuilt or new stock calipers, stock, drilled, or slotted rotors, motul rbf 600 fluid, SS brake lines, aggressive pads, brake cooling ducts, etc. Use premium bolt-ons to enhance the performance of stock parts.
Upgrade 2: hardware swap: bolt on the '86-'87 c900 Turbo spindle, calipers & vented rotors. In some cases (and I don't know when) you might have to change drive axles also to keep compatibility.
Upgrade 3: spindle swap to '88+, see below

c900 1986 & 1987 [vented front rotors, sliding-type calipers, solid rears)
Upgrade 0: same as above.
Upgrade 1: same as above.
Upgrade 2: hardware swap: ‘88+ front spindles, rear axle, complete braking system.
Upgrade 3: hardware swap: bolt-on a pair of Wilwood Superlight calipers to existing '86-'87 spindle.

c900 1988-1993 [vented front rotors 278mm x 23.5mm, 54mm ATE calipers, solid rears]
Upgrade 0: same as above.
Upgrade 1: same as above.
Upgrade 2: hardware swap: bolt-on a pair of 57mm ATE calipers from a 9000. You must clearance-cut or remove rock shields to fit the larger caliper. You must bend the hard lines, and customize the bracket to the modified hard lines. Once you have the larger caliper, you can still use either the thick (25mm) or thin (23.5mm) rotor. source >>'87+ 9000T and '89+ 9000NA have ATE 57mm piston and 278mm x 25.0mm rotor.<<
Upgrade 3: Big brake kit. These have many flavors and methods of execution. For example – ScanWest Autosport has a kit with Wilwood Dynalite calipers, 302mm x 32mm rotors, aluminum hats, custom brackets. It fits under 16” wheels and will work on 9000’s as well. I've heard of similar kits from Saab Savior, Abbott Racing, Trent Saab, etc.
