I use the BCPR7ES in my 9000 CSE, which is standard apart from a JT 3" exhaust (turbo back) and an ITG foam filter. Plug colour is spot on (though I did once have weak mixture from a duff inlet temperature sensor). Certainly nobody on the 9000 board seems to report sooty plugs without an obvious cause and I can't believe the heat range is really wrong for your application. But though there are many opinions out there, most people with standard or lightly modded 9000s seem to gap them to 0.9mm = 0.035 or 0.036, and knock them back if and when they get to 1.0 mm.
On the other hand, the concensus seems to be that if you insist on using Platinum plugs, the 6-range Platinums do better than the 7s in 9000s. I did a dyno test once with conventional and Platinum NGKs, both 7s, and got a little less power with the Platinum plugs.
Finally, when I asked Maptun about Platinum plugs they commented that they can foul and are slow to clear. I understand they prefer the normal plugs for applications up to say 300 bhp.
There is a section on the NGK web site that illustrates different plug colours for diagnosis at the link below - enjoy!
