Most tuners like Abbott, Maptun, Nordic, Speedparts etc. use very rich fuel mixture to accomplish the boost and power the acheive. This is a very safe way to tune making it almost impossible to damage the car. It does how ever rob the engine of the max power it can make. Most tuners run between 10-11 to 1 air fuel ratio. When water is added to the condition the flame front is retarded too much for a proper burn. A 12.5 air fuel ratio makes more power but is closer to the edge if the driver is not attentive to the needs of the car.
The fact that some cars loose power when water is added is very true but is alway coupled with the fact that the car is running excessivly rich. Subaru's and the SRT-4 are good examples of this both make less power with water added but if you remove the excess fuel and then add water the power increase is very large.
On a stock T-7 at altitude and poor gas, water injection will help greatly.
If the boost was raised with out going to excessive fuel dumping more power can be made.
You can not always continual add parts without working a creating a new balance to make all parts work together.
I have great success with every water injection I do.
As far as Taylor's comment the power increase on the Correvtt is a fact. I only suppled the parts and the technical help they did the work.
