"The best thing you can do for responsiveness..."
The best way to reduce boost delay is to install a MBC+A or a SMBC if you need to preserve APC boost reduction functions. This will let the turbo spool up at its native rate in this application. Then you get turbo lag, which can be way faster than boost delay created by the control system.
A MBC+A eliminates boost pressure overshoots that occur with a basic MBC installation. This is so effective, that the MBC can be pressureized from the TB and that eliminates the boost droop that occurs by feeding the controller from upstream of the IC's pressure drop and other pressure drops. The remaining downside is too much torque in 1st gear which requires feathering the throttle. For the C900's, this troque in 1st gear may be gear box hostile. Some have rigged up two stage MBC's. If this is done it is best to have two external bleed orifices and a solenoid that switches between the two. The low boost should trigger on power and the normally open port would be for the high boost orifice. Having two separate orifices will allow for easy adjustment. The high boost orfice would be a normal drilled out orifice. Adjust your max boost on that with the MBC's spring tension. Then the low boost orfices is a needle valve and you adjust is to have greater flow resistance which lowers the boost.
