Hey Saaboost, the CPS can be done a number of ways.
You can use the setup you describe if you have a custom 58-tooth wheel made to replace the hall-effect shutter wheel. That would make the tightest package, if you could fit it all behind the main pulley!
My setup has the standard size shutter wheel, with custom aluminum bracket for the sensor. See picture below - inner alternator/water pump belt has been eliminated and shutter wheel is mounted to back of main pulley. Washer for alternator bracket was shaved for clearance. Power steering pump bracket was shaved for clearance. Sensor is adjustable about +/- 7 degrees from target of 117 degress BTDC.
I've seen another setup where the sensor is underneath the alternator, held by a steel bracket. The same shutter wheel was mounted on the firewall side of the main pulley, where the A/C pulley normally goes. I think Eric Van Spelde has this setup in his DI/APC car - any pics Eric?
