First off, it's not really productive to ask a bunch of folks to arm chair quarterback your dealer. I wouldn't trust any of the answers, including mine.
1)That's bs. The engine is going to use as much as it needs, regardless of which intake pipe you use. If you had a MAF (which you don't) it may be afected by changing the intake. You better figure that your bucking is something else. If it is at high boost levels you might have a bad boost control valve and you are overboosting to the fuel cut off. If so be prepared the bcv is a few hundred$$.
2)A bpv that doesn't open can cause some weird drivability issues. Usually when you you go from big throttle to closed throttle as there are pressure surges that have nowhere to go. Buy a new bpv, the bosch one works fine.
3)Fix it. Wrap it if it's short term, but it will do nothing but get worse.
4)Replace the sensor.
5) Live with the light or take the bulb out
