I had a tuner that mainly works with Japanese cars (Evo etc.) look at the c900 set up (mine was stock IC + fan) and the conclusion was that it would be very hard to make real improvements on the stock location - they reckoned the pipe runs were about as short as they could be, and there's a clean and defined airstream from below the headlight, helped by the fan.
That, and all OE cores I've seen used for a c900 FMIC install hitherto (9k, Volvo 700-series) are not especially well flowing. I would give Jak's IC set up close consideration.
Me? I'm still waiting for my liquid/air IC (converted alloy 900 IC -flows like cr*p, but with a potential for 30C intake air temp @ 1.5 bar, who's complaining?) to emerge - already installed a custom rad (all the width of the engine rad, and 6" high) in front of the engine coolant radiator acouple of months ago...
