Just got a new set of Avon ZZ1 215/40R17 on my '88 9KT with Jamex springs and koni shocks. Real supple ride, but are quite loud scooting around town on smooth pavement. Haven't had time to do anything crazy, but they do have nice response, even with the fresh high profile tread....which leads me to say that I haven't seen a tire with such deep tread! It will be fantastic in the wet, but maybe not that incredible in the dry for a while. Nice rim protector to boot. Still made in GB, even though Cooper bought them out. Best thing of all, no rubbing on hard corners like the old Yoko 215/45 17s.
I was running 38psiF/37psiR,,,,,,,what do you guys run??? The guy at the tire shop insisted I run close to 30psi because of the low profile, but is that safe?
