This noise is found only when the clutch is just about to move the car forward under its' own power.. It doesn't happen either when the clutch is fully depressed or if the car is in neutral with the clutch pedal fully up. Funny... I have been very easy on the clutch in my 15k of ownership and the noise has only gotten just a touch worse in that timeframe.
I am considering either a more solid clutch if I keep the car and move forward with more horsepower; or, putting a clutch in the car (factory) and selling it.
Has anyone ever replaced a clutch in these cars themselves? I have done a clutch or two in a fwd VW chassis car and was wondering if from a technical perspective it is similar and something that the average competent DIY'er could do with the appropriate tools.. Any thoughts?
Thanks guys, I appreciate your help.
