You are on the right track - the throttle closes too fast, and the result is a close throttle and an open leak (still open BOV)in induction. My LH2.4 suffered the same thing with the TXS/H/RFL atmospheric. UNTIL I installed a throttle dashpot. See:http://www.pbase.com/image/25157420
The LH2.2s had a dashpot but for whatever reason, they took it out on my '93. I added the dashpot, and it feels a little different, like the throttle is gummed up (only because I'm used to throttle-slam), but it will let the BOV close before the throttle, or at least close slower. If you can get a hold of one, get the dashpot bracket with the WOT switch on it - might come in handy in the future (for what, I haven't a clue).
I like the sound, it helps keep the compressor spinning, and the pickup after a tight corner is pretty noticeable.
It's your car - do what you want :O) ...oh, and yes, it WORKS (I'm proof).
