I only use 3 washers and have plugged up the OEM BPV piping and return nipple. It's not the BOV sticking open. It's the throttle slamming too fast.
In retrospect, the OEM BPV, coupled with the K&N (allows audible monitoring of BPV) made me notice the compressor "flutter". This is probably (anybody welcome to correct me) the pressure flying BACK across the vanes of the compressor. Makes a ftftftftftftftftft sound.
If you cheap out and connect the BOV to the OEM return hose, you'll get fultter, too. The hose is simply not wide enough. Make sure you properly weld the aluminum spud onto the IC-to-throttle elbow (mild steel will not work) and get a good hose to connect to vaccuum in TB.
Good luck!
