Hi, Drew, and welcome to Houston.
I have used two dyno shops in Houston.
The first was "Strictly Performance", a Mustang tuner near Hobby airport. They didn't know how to get the engine speed from a car that has direct ignition instead of a distributor. Since the Dynojet dynamometers back out the torque figures from HP using a formula involving engine speed, I couldn't get torque figures either. Also, they didn't have enough fans going to cool a turbocharged car.
My next try was "ProTechnik", a Porsche shop on the Southwest side. They were able to figure out the DIC business with only a few minor problems, and they have all kinds of fans set up. They were more expensive, though.
"Texas Automotive Performance" is a Volvo/Saab shop located near I10 and Beltway 8 in West Houston. They have always done a good job for me, but they work on more Volvos than Saabs, so they don't have a Tech II. They have experience with Upsolute software on Volvos, so I'm thinking of going that route for my ECU work.
Since you just got your Saab, I'm assuming weren't present at the few meetings we had trying to get a Houston area Saab owners club going. To be candid, it's floundering a bit right now, but if you're interested, we could use another enthusiastic member.
Best regards,
Dave
