Truth be told the KIC clamp is overpriced and does not really do the job as good as the MP kit. I'll break it down for you.

KIC
Aluminum based- can expand and contract easily and allow for the top mounting point to get lose and rip out of the firewall due to the material. This is been the reported in Saab Dealerships across Europe and the main reason why they have been taken off of cars over there.

Brace- If like Abbotts is made out of a hollow pipe with washers welded on the ends with a chrome plated finish. If it's really stainless steel not sure why you would plate it? Why not polish it?

Mounting hardware-not sure of the grade? Top mounting hardware does not contain any loctite to prevent it from getting loose.

Noises- It can rattle and cause a noise to be hear in the cabin.

Cost- Twice as much as MP kit.

Design- Ripped off of Abbott Racing

Nick is the neighbor of the owner of KIC.

MP
The Clamp- is made out steel powder coated red. Steel is harder/stronger then aluminum and will hold in place better. The design does surround the steering rack completely.

Mounting hardware- Grade 8 mounting hardware and comes with loctite to prevent anything from coming lose.

Brace- Made out of stainless steel. All endeds are billet with a strong solid stainless steel pipe connecting the two together. The finish is polished to a chrome. The welds are made by a person who welds together artifical joints for a living and are some of the cleanest you will ever see. This part is more a piece of art then an autopart.

Noise- Only design with a rubber gasket to prevent any noises from being heard in the cabin.

Design- Orginal that took was prototyped for over one year.

Cost- Very low cost. Been told the part price needs to be raised but refuse to do so.

I designed and make this part.

My philosophy on car parts is that if you price the part low enough you’ll sell enough volume to make up the differance. In the past all Saab performance parts were outrageously priced to allow for high profits and low volume sales. This resulted in only a few being able to afford the upgrades. We make high quality parts and sell at a fraction of what our competition does. We hope to change the Saab performance scene to allow for more people to be able to afford and appreciate the uniqueness of our cars.
