Hey Jake,
I ran into a similar issue and couldn't find a supplier of Viggen downpipes in Toronto. So I took the drawings from JT website and brought that with my car to NoyzBoyz in Scarborough. They put in a duplicate of JT's. 3" stainless steel (don't remember which grade but wasn't the ultimate 303/304) and they installed a Magnaflow Hi-flow cat and eliminated the first pup cat right along the first foot of tubing. They carried that piping to about the resonator. Very strong difference, spool up from 2000-3000 rpm used to take 1.5 seconds, now 1/2 that time, plus I do feel a stronger pull - guessing 15-20hp.
Anyway's the guy who did it is now elsewhere in Toronto but I do have his info at work and I shopped around until I found the best deal which was him.
If you want his details email me.
