Hello Jak,

thanks for your reply, you ar ehte only one in like 2 days to even attempt an answer at this, cheers! So... there is a lot more going on than i described in the first post. Basically my origional engine was flooded in florida, and i got a high performance one made from dave at group9performance... the turbo intalled on the new engine was just some old thing, never tested, just "cleaned up"...

When the engine was first built, and finally started, it was boosting 6psi... all day long... i brought it back and complained like hell to the shop, and they said it was the computers causing the problem (check engine light was on, couldn't clear the codes)...

...so i bought 2 replacement computers, EU and DI/APC from ebay for $100...
and installed the MAPTUN chips that i bought from abbott racing a while ago...as far as i know, these chips want to raise the base boost level, don't they?

check engine light goes off, bring car back to shop, shop can STILL only get 6 psi...

...so they close the wastegate completely on the turbo... and gave it a test run... i'm not sure what reading they got, but it didn't boost "into the red" is what they said. They asked me if my exhaust was "clooged", but i have a full abbott stainless system, and a new cat (could see through it a little anyways)... i was thinking my intercooler might be clogged... but i posted it on this board and got little support for that idea... After whatever they did, it'll PEAK up at 10 psi now, but hovers around 6psi while i'm under normal acceleration. This leads me to believe the turbo unit is bad itself? not spooling correctly???

cruise control light NEVER comes on though, and i know when the cruise can cause base boost... but like i said, my cat used to be an automatic... and we had to trick the selector into thinking it's in neutral so the car would start...

but the cruise needs the selector to be in DRIVE... so on a related subject, how can i trick the scruise into thinking it's in drive so i can use it again? Maybe this fix my problem with base boost? it's a long shot i know, first thing i should do is swap the turbo with the never befoe been used t25 i got...

thanks again for your support jak, i think i need to go see the lititz group in PA for a full out diagnosis of this crap
