the point is, the c900 timing controls are very weak. the msd btm is better, but still not as good as being able to control timing electronically. electronic control of the timing makes a world of difference.

also, for those of us who have spent time on the dyno looking for more power with the stock system (pre-lh chip tuning), we realize how difficult it is to actually "tune". there are very few variables with the stock lh system. you can easily see the shortfall of the stock fuel maps and adding larger injectors give you top end gains in fuel to the detriment of the lower end. sure you can throw in the resisitor and trim it back, or you can use a series of pressure switches and resistors to get the resistor to be out of line when at higher boost pressures. but even then, the set up is static.

with the programmable system any chance you make to the set up of the engine can be retuned to be most efficient, without spending extra money at some tuner. it grows with your upgrades. and, you can spend the time and effort on making upgrades which actually improve the ve of the engine and not just compensate for the shortfalls of the stock lh.

one measurement i use: with the stock lh i was running 18 psi and dynoed at 200 whp. when i first put in the wolf system 2+ years ago, before i really knew how to tune, i got 213 whp with only 13 psi, with no other changes to the engine set up. there is a difference and you really have to work with a system to realize the gains.
