Just wondering...from what folks have said that one could probably configure the 2.3L NA engine to safely run on around 4 Lbs boost.
There are many small superchargers out there that could accomplish this easily (and like the pro charger are self contained, not requiring oil lines or an intercooler at that low boost). The only major stumbling block would obviously be trying to get it positioned where the stock airbox is so as to access the crankshaft pulley. It appears that it could potentially be postioned above the center idler pulley, with the charger pulley positioned between the center idler pulley and the power steering pump pulley.
This raises some questions - Can the supercharger be driven off of the auxilliary drivebelt? at this low boost? Is there a longer, similiar patterned drive belt available?
Are there any other ways to drive it that my simple mind is missing?
THanks for any thoughts...as I said I am just musing.
(p.S. Please restrain from making the buy a turbo comment if you are so inclined.)
