try another coil wire a bad open in the wire can do this
if that dont do it hook the clamp part to the pos battery clamp
hook the light probe to the negative battery terminal
crank it & look to see if the light flashes (check ground pulse signal) the light will pulse somewhat with no signal as battery voltage decreases durring each compression stroke so dont mistake this for a actual signal
if there is a good signal replace the coil
if there is no signal check the conection at the hall sensor (on the distributor) pull the dist cap & look at the 3 tiny wires in there & see if any are broken try wiggling that conector while cranking to see if it starts
if you have another distributor you can plug that one in & spinn the gear while checking spark (holding coil wire in your mouth is a bad idea) if it sparks you have a bad hall sensor
the other problem may be a bad ignition amplifyer or conection at the ignition amp so if you have another car laying around you can pull one from & plug it in & see if it starts (thats what I do)
aside from that ? Id have to be looking at the car with a wiring diagram & a DMM in my hand checking for power & grounds & continuity between here & there
good luck :-)
sorry for your trouble
