The ball spring type MBC will create increased boost. And it will make the turbo get on boost faster. If you pressurize the MBC from the turbo compressor hose barb you will get a lot of boost taper. If you pressurized from manifold or TB, you will get nasty boost pressure overshoots AKA spikes, but no taper. A MBC+A does not have pressure overshoots or boost taper. So thats a better solution -perfect boost-, and easy to adjust. I have read comments over the years about some boost taper being a good thing on C900's, but I don't understand why. Explanations have been that this takes the strain off of the engine at higher RPMs. But perhaps it is to avoid high speed knock which might also be related to IC's that are not quite what they should be. But such issues with C900s are all way beyond my experience.
Someone with a good C900 setup, known good A/Fs, and A/F meter should try a MBC+A. In KC I would be glad to provide one for trial and assist.
