One of the reasons of having a BTM is to set timing at idle higher. This gives you more torque and a little better power at the low end. Start with 18. Now what you want to do do is map your timing using an external boost gauge and a bicycle pump. At max boost you want your timing to be around 10.5-11.5. The lower you go the less power you will have at max boost. 2 is way to high. When you set it at 2 your decreaseing timing by 2 degrees per lb. of boost. I don't have the same car as you, but mine is set at about 1\3. I use to run 24 timing wise. This gave me unreal lowend, crapy idle and boost that would taper like crazy. I then started going lower until I found 19 to be a perfect medium for my car. Octane plays a big roll as well. With my settings (stock turbo), my car will boost all day at 18 psi.
