it was after I remapped for the 3 inch DP with the ford swingate that I kiled it or it happened while doing pulls to remap & than just took a crap getting on the highway
but basically I had my T3/60 with .63 turbine housing spooling up allot like a stock turbo I mean the grunt was insane
I think cranking up the boost on a stock turbo is a bad idea perticularly like over 17 lbs peak boost because the stock turbo realy nuts up down low like WHAM! although my first trans heald up great thru 23 lbs with
the stock turbo & allot more after with the 60 series
I think running a bigger turbo is probably better I know that everyone who rides in my car says how smootheley the power comes on & I think that is good
this trans which just died I only set up the diff on & a friend of mine assembled it so even though it had a typical failure there might have been something up which was missed (see how I dodge blame)
my first trans heald up well (4 years)& at SOC I dynoed at 219WHP & 230 ft lbs torque?
the trans even heald up after that with my ability to remap & the hundreds of WOT pulls in 3rd with the talon IC
I think this is safer than what I aproximate my HP to be now like 250WHP & 285 wheel torque
I still dont think they are weak its just if yuo double the torque & than some that the trans cant realy be expected to hold up to that
run synthetic oil like redline Im gona try the shockproof in the 4 speed
Im not sure I can do the list of mods in the order you specify above but I hope you get a general idea of how I feel about my expierence from reading where I crossed the line
I also think its kind of random fatigue in the 3rd gear too
if there is anything that Im missing here please ask me to be more specific
take care
JAK
