I prefer to have the same pressures front and rear on my 9000, and I certainly wouldn't go up to 45 psi as suggested above - more like 36 or 37 with my Goodyear FI GS-D3s at 205/55-15. Saab recommends 35 for this tyre size at normal speeds (up to 100mph) and 41 from 100 to maximum. I do have poly bushes, stiffer springs and Konis, however.
Anyway, with equal pressures front and rear the car is now very well-balanced and hangs on like grim death. A good (and cheap) way to reduce understeer on an otherwise standard 9000 is to put poly bushes on the rear anti-roll bar - not the front, leave those rubber.
1993 CSE 2.3 turbo S automatic, about 225 bhp, Abbott springs/bushes, Konis
