That's interesting about the p bearing issue - just fix it when it needs fixed. Today I ordered some stuff from the Saabsite and I got into a conversation with the guy who answered the phone all about year/tranny differences. When I told him I have an 88 tranny he mentioned how on that tranny one of the inner shafts (I forget the specific name) known for it's problematic bearings was enlargened and beefed up. He too didn't think much of the larger pinion bearing of the later years, saying how the improvement made in 88 went a long way toward solving a common gear/teeth alignment problem. I wish I could be more specific. I was just glad to hear something good about this tranny.
