If you go to Street Prepared, you'll get your butt kicked by people who invest thousands of dollars in their cars. Also, SP is tough to run in with a turbo because you can't legally modify the APC, and you really have to run with a limited slip (Phantom Grip the only real option). In classes where suspension mods are allowed, you have to know how to set up a car if you're running an oddball like a Saab. The Honda, VW, Mustang etc. crowd just copy what the frontrunners are doing and get 85% there; we're not so lucky.

If you're new to the sport and aren't doing well, don't sweat it too much -- it really is a skill that takes years to hone. Find a top driver to take a run in your car; after he beats your best time by a mile, it's easier to worry more about the driving than the car. :-)
