I'd Go with what jak suggests.. the old 2 litre is a Fine unit. The car is also lighter and the old 2 litre Cars (yours) were much more agile/quick feeling (for a Saab :-)than the newer ones.
From experience I've gotten the Son's 9k up to a stable 18psi..without Fpr, Injector or Exhaust upgrades.. in truth it's prolly at the limit.
But is more than fast enough for the Car's Handling and Brakes in my opinion... It can and does hit the overboost fuel cutout in 5th (I set it to 18psi :-).. Plenty of 'Stupid Speed' disaster potential there.
Remember that these Saabs are OLD and transboxes have been a decades old problem.. likely you will have to rebuild yers :-) as a result of 'extra' power.. most do :-). In short read a lot. (some Info is errr.. 'suspect' onna Internet:-)Think about it, ask questions and proceed slowly.
