supply & demand is my guess
Here in Ohio we have Mid-Ohio which is $15-20K to rent for a weekend or about 2 hr west of me in Indy there is Putnam park which costs $12K to rent for the weekend. Putnam is booked every weekend over a year in advance & supposidley about half of their weekdays are booked as well. Thus the people putting on the schools can charge $275+ for a weekend & still have 50-100 cars show up. My guess out in Montana is their is not as much competition with different organizations putting on the events thus the daily fees are less :)
I also would like to be a instructor some day so I do not have to pay for schools. However, after watching some of the new drivers in cars I am not sure if someone could pay me enough to ride with them around any track. Some people are quite scary behind the wheel :)
