I thought all the 2.0l 16Vt engines had the same boost gauge (or, at least, the division between yellow (orange?)/red was the same at roughly 12 psi. But then, I have heard that each gauge can vary quite a bit, even within the same model, from one car to the next.
I see that the Imprezza WRX comes with a calibrated/numbered boost gauge as an option, though I think it is in BAR? Wonder if Saab will ever do that..
I think you're doing great to get 17-18 psi from self tweaking and not much else! That's a more than 50% max boost inrease over stock. Six seconds to sixty, that's just incredible for a four door car. Sure, today it doesn't sound that impressive, but I remember when the Acura NSX first came out, it was 5.6 seconds, and it has a body made of aluminum and only seats two!
