Previously was running with a 2.8 bar FPR and the equivalent of a SPG9 Stage 1 APC. I also have a Jacobs Ignition, Abbott full turbo back exhaust with free-flow cat.

With the 2.8 bar FPR, I would get 15 psi some of the time, but more often around sea level on anything but the coldest days, I'd hear pinging and boost would drop back to 11 psi and fluctuate, sometimes wildly, between say 10 psi and 13 psi, as it should. In the mountains, where lower octance is required, I'd get more boost more consistently.

Now, with the 3.0 bar FPR, I get the same max boost everywhere, about 15.5 psi, and no pinging. The max boost is solid - ie it will reach max boost and stay there as long as I keep my foot in it.

My fears about the 3.0 bar being too much fuel around town, and causing the driveability to be impaired, were totally unfounded at least on my car. I can't tell any difference at all around town. My other fear was that mileage would drop significantly, but my testing thus far shows that to also not be the case. I still seem to get the same excellent MPG on the freeway as I have since I got my new O2 sensor in a month ago. Awesome! So I can highly recommend the 3.0 bar FPR, and to boot it is noticeably cheaper and more available than the 2.8 bar.


Now, all this may change yet again when I put the 30# Ford Motorsport injectors in, may need to go back to 2.8 bar FPR.. we shall see!
