Insurance company's suck
I got hit in my 87 spg, I got 9k out of em, but took 4 years
Tried to give me 2k to start
But to skip the hasle you need to get and agreed valure policy.
In Massachusetts the law says they have to consider the average, account for milage, and account for wear and improvements. I sent them monthly letters stating i wanted the car repaired or or pay my value if they wanted a cash settlement. the frame was cranked, I sent them my value, and a 15k repair estimate, every month.
Then i had to refute all corispondance they sent me.
Then after 2 years i took it to the state ins comission. the after 3 years of it being blown off in court , a judge ordered that they pay 3k for car, and that i get tripple damages due to the excessive hardship created by the loss, and necessary replacement without compensation.
So i got my 9 k :)
And I have the guts of that SPG put away so it can be reborn into a 99 when i get the free time
I now have an agreed value policy on my 95 9000 aero, set at 15K
I did this because of the high milage on the car, 272k, but I am in the process of making her a 350 hp beast
An i pay 2400 a year for it, ( lot of speeding tickets though) it was a little less than te stard state set premium for the normal insurance.
Good luck man
