Sounds to me like your apc is not working properly. Your base boost (what occurs with the apc disconnected) should be around 5 psi of boost. your 8v iirc, should boost up to around 9 or 10 psi easily. I would make sure that the knock sensor connector is good and that all your apc connections are clean and the connectors havent backed out. Check the apc fuse, #10 I think. your apc box will be under the drivers side of the rear seat. check to make sure its not sitting in a puddle of water and the connections are shot or anything.
