just knew that the T3/60 was too small
& spoke with a friend with a 290WHP C900 running a similar turbo also spent time on the phone with my turbo builder talking about where my car is making power & where I want it too & came up with what I now have
you would be suprised that most of the tuners I know even well known ones with dyno shops dont allways use the methods you are speaking of one just learns in what RPM range a given turbo will pull & what HP it will suport & then tune the engine & other components to work with that turbo
frank stromqvist sugjested that I use a volvo TD0419T (dident tell me the turbine housing size) he said that it would spool up quicker than the turbo I built & pull as long or longer but I like the garretts better I think they are stronger
you are rite though your way of looking at it is corect & will probably produce the best results
sounds like you know allot about turbos :-) it sounds like you might be more informed than I am on this subject
I dont know as much about turbos as I do about fueling I sure dont know how to read a compressor map so I rely on what other tuners tell me works for them
but at $240 for the turbine wheel, compressor wheel, backplate & cover if I dont like the way it works Ill build another turbo & sell this one :-)
how are you fueling your car with a T3/T4? what head & intake manifold,IC & exhaust are you runnig? do you have any dyno slips? I know that the OE ECU isent mapped nearly corectly for the airflow curves of a biger than stock turbo that is for sure
well......
have a great wekend:-)
