I have a aftermarket ECU built by Autronic which is compatible to Haltech or Motec.
I turned the turbo that way due to it makes plumbing a LOT easier& also gives more room under there. If the turbo had the intake on the OEM side the turbo baraly clears the distributor & I worried about HEAT!
The Distributor was only used for a hall sensor, this way I didn't have to make a trigger system like Vince & a few other people have done with their acftermakret ECU's.
There is also a MSD DIS-4 which is one of MSD's ignition systems. The DIS-4 is mounted next to the autronic ECU which is on the passenger side floor close to where the OEM ECU was. Presently there ARE wires going to the ignition thingy thants mounted on the sparkplug cover.
The wires going everywhere is being cleaned up now actually, should be finished soon then better pics & a dynojet dyno run.
Be it good or bad..... it's been a +5 year project :(
