what Ive found mostly is that they try to throw the higher boost levels first & cut back to where pre ignition is keept down T5 acts the same way too
basicaly though you want to get in a taller gear that you can hold max boost between like 2700-4500RPM the longer you can keep WOT full boost the better dont use the brake this wil result in base boost operation
durring adaption you may get allot of spiking & droping of boost till it all settles in
