Mark,
I sourced my vacuum under the dash instead of the engine bay. I used the vacuum/pressure line under the dash used for the factory boost gauge. You can access this line by removing the clock/info assembly and reaching behind the instrument cluster. Of course, this approach will leave you without the dash gauge. The primary benefit of this approach is that it is the quickest and easiest way to hook up a gauge that I could find! Sometime down the road, though, I hope to install a "T" line so that I can use both guages simultaneously.
BTW, I mounted my gauge where the clock was, in the info center. For this mounting, the vacuum line used for the factory gauge needed 6 or 7 more inches of length. I extended the length of the hose using vacuum-line connectors from Auto Zone.
I don't know where you plan to mount your gauge, but consider the clock's location. It takes time to modify the Info center case, but it's time well spent. I got the idea from seeing an E-bay auction for an info center modified to include a boost gauge. The more I thought about it, the more I realized what a logical a placement it was.
Anyway, good luck with your installation.
Dan
