Plenum is best place for pressure measurement cuz that's where it's Lowest during actual Use :-) Taking it from a venturi/restriction (throttle body) gives an exaggerated reading.. both to the gauge and to the electronics... great fer impressing the passengers , but little else:-)
Hunt around, there should be a suitable nipple somewhere inna Middle.. there is on Son's '87.
