Hi Mike, as bill said it's just a higher rate than a standard regulator's 1 to 1 rate. SDP made a very good point, a RRFPR has less pressure at idle (when vacuum is present) which allows larger injectors to be run without changing your fuel systems electronics (ECU). The better RRFPR's have a base pressure adjustment that a standard one of course doesn't have. Others like Corky Bell's and our latest one even have a rise in rate adjustment. Unfortunately you can't use a RRFPR in your 9-3 as the '94 up Saab's have a sifistacated engine management system that has to have a fixed rate 3.0 bar fuel pressure regulator. Our RRFPR's are a direct replacement for '85 to '93 900's and '86 to '90 9000's. For your application a Trionics upgrade from companies like Maptun and SQR not only deal with proper fuel delivery but ignition timing and a lot more! These kinds of upgrades are tailored to either a 3.0 or a 3.8 fixed rate fuel pressure regulator. Dave
