MBC Questions for newbie

Hey everyone, I know this has probably been answered in previous posts, but I'm finding it hard to find a straight answer from the ones with actual experience. First, the specs of my car:
1999 9-3 T-5 (recently totalled and fully repaired with a new engine)
-Huge MRT Rally WRX intake, custom fit to my engine bay (taking advantage of no AMF sensor)
-MP Performance steering rack and brace
-MP Performance rear sway bar
-Ported TBTC
-GFB Basic BOV
-Saab sport exhaust with a decent amount of backpressure
Okay so here's the question: I have very little money to spend and I was thinking of getting an SMBC or an MBC+A cause I can’t really afford a new ECU. Basically, after already totaling my car, I really can’t risk doing any more damage, therefore I want to keep the stock max boost. Both an SMBC and an MBC+A placed in line with the BPC and WGA will allow me to always keep the boost below 15 psi, correct? I mostly want a faster spool-up. Would it be necessary for me to buy a boost and/or Air/Fuel mixture gauge to keep my boost in check, or can I live without it? If I’m running max boost, would I need new injectors? Also, could I continue to use 87 octane fuel, or would I need to jump to 93? Sorry if these questions have been answered already. Thanks for your help.
