Concerning your altitued issues i have a early (88') 9KT and i used to live at around 1500 - 2500 feet I now leave a 7500 feet the only thing I needed to do when I moved was disconect the neg battery cable so the ecu could learn how to make the air up here work. I revs a little slower now and has about the same power now as it did back home befor the Cold air intake. but there are no problems with it at all. i dont know how the newer ecus work but i assume they are better at adapting to conditions and it is a saab so you can be shure that is well engineerd.
Best of Luck,
Aaron
