I think it works well
I took a sawzall & hacked off the bottom of the air filter housing
I have reached my hand in there & fealt on either side of the bumper suport & the air is colder on the filter housing side allways & once moving, air moves in thru the grille no problem rite up in there
I started with a 3 inch hole in the front with a K&N but when I cut the bottom off & the intake noise went up & soo did the boost & boost stability I guess what Im saying is that I dont think putting a biger pipe there is nesessary just hack the bottom off the damm box
I gotta get my 3 inch cat back on there :-) I ordered a flowmaster #40delta because I want it reasonably quiet (because the SPG is such an animal) Ill do all the pipe in mandrel bends ofcourse I still dont have all the stuff on that I need for the SQR stage3 on my car so I know there is more power to be had with exhaust & intake help which Im sure would even help stock software
