Actually the p7000 were lacking all arounds...they were decent put not spectucular in the dry, and they were COMPLETELY worthless in the snow. Pirelli though doodling on a few torque sipes on the outer blocks made it all season, I doubt the compound was any different than the summer ones. I actually got caught in a bit of early spring snow with the 712's and faired just as well if not better then the p7000.
Even having had much better tires I would define the 712 as an excellent tire for the money, and for someone who is used to all season it will be a huge improvement, but for the serious enthusiast, I would recomend s0-3, kumho mx or bfg kdw(2).
