Base boost definition Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Cruise, SRS, Trionic ECU? Boost hunting., Dexter J, Wed, 4 May 2005 08:59:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 1994, base boost is 5.5 lbs/sq. in. (measured on a stand-alone vacuum/pressure gauge) and this is indicated at just below the yellow/red slotted area on the car's boost gauge. Full boost is barely into the red zone, but I don't know what the actual measurement is because my gauge only goes up to 10 lb./sq. in. In any case, there is a very noticeable difference in power.
It's very easy to see what base boost should look like on your gauge: just unplug the BPC Solenoid, go for a drive. Are you normally getting something above this or not?
