I wanted to get some thoughts on how my 89' SPG would stack up against a WRX stock and the STi. I have been in a Freeway battle with both and the results shocked me...

my 89' SPG has a fully rebuilt motor by dave K at Group 9. 8.25:1 comp ratio. 2.1 head.intake/ 24lb injector, eclipse IC, 3.0bar FPR, also 17x8 wheels 215/40/17 tires. I hold about 1/2 into the red on the Turbo guage an hold about 1/4 into the red.
First I blew the doors of the standard WRX this car has 227 HP as far as I recall. He tried to pull away from me getting onto the freeway this morning. I thought it would be a good race. As Soon as we were off the on ramp 70mph. I nailed it in 3rd gear and I got 2 car lenths on him almost right away and then was pulling away solid till i hit 110 and slowed down. He caught up and gave me the thums up!!

Then about 3 weeks ago I had a similar experice with an STi. This I thought would take me for sure....this was defintely more of a battle. He was just slightly pulling away from me...I hit 125 and all the way he was right there... I thought my car was only making around 220hp but it must be more..??

Thoughts?
