wheels that steer the car. In a high power application, these wheels can spin when trying to exit a turn and result in the car going straight - bad.
In a high power rwd car you can actually steer a little with the throttle in turns and coming out of turns. Plus rear wheel drift is very fun.
I have an 04 GTO that is lots fun doing this stuff - I've had it to one road course track event and it was a blast.
In drag racing, the weight xfer to the rear gives you a lot more traction at launch.
