I had to replace the odometer/speedo (for the second time) in my spg today. The odometers break alot. I thought about cutting out the factory boost gage and mounting the vdo gage in its place. Well, it's not possible due to circut runs behind the gage area. I think it would look great to have a real boost gage in the instrument panel instead of the lame factory boost "approximator". But the vdo will have to stay in the center din hole for now. Oh, I used a '89 speedo in my '87 spg. I had to modify slightly but I'll find out if it works tomorrow.
