That's a marvelous idea, but I don't think it's possible to mount the 87 front calipers on the rear axle/hub assembly. If it can be done, others would have done it by now. Also, the smaller caliper design on the rear is no doubt to provide a proper front rear balance of stopping power. You don't want your rear brakes locking up on you during a hard brake. Stopping power in a car is overwhelmingly provided by the front wheels. Same as motorcycles and bicycles.
