Martin,
I just a wild hair to paint my calipers red to match the car. I've not painted calipers before, but I've painted a few cars in my day. Taking the calipers off the car, disassembling, painting, reassambling, then bleeding etc sounded like too much work. What i planned to do is this:
Put the car up on jackstands, remove wheels, remove calipers and tie up with zip ties. Hose down and wire brush calipers with brakecleen, maybe a last wipe with some Acrylkleen or similar, tape off the hoses and piston and anything that shouldn't be painted(oh yeah, might wanna take the pads out before all this :), then let 'em rip. I was planning on just using engine paint, pretty resistant to heat, brake fluid, grease, etc.
Hmmmm, those with some cross drilled rotors should look pretty shchwing...maybe i can knock off work early today and get started :D
