Viggen vs. SE springs

EPC catalog isn't working so I can't look to see the different part numbers, but here's the issue:
I have a set of springs taken off of a Viggen convertible and was going to put them on my '01 SE. However, uncompressed and sitting side by side the Viggen springs are actually longer than the original SE set, fronts are almost a full coil longer and rears are slightly longer. Does that sound right?
Which would mean that the Viggen springs are actually softer than the SE's? Everything I've read says the Viggens ride height is about 3/4" lower than the SE and if the springs are longer uncompressed that means they have to be softer right? Unless the set I have here are not really from a Viggen, maybe an lpt? Sometimes softer is actually better for handling but given the harsher Viggen ride I was expecting shorter and stiffer. Any thoughts appreciated.
Or maybe I should forget the whole Viggen-spring idea and buy an aftermarket set? Any recommendations? I already bought the darn Koni's w/o the springs because I was doing to use these Viggen ones I have. A little lower would be good but I don't want to be driving diagonally over speed bumps though...
