this all sounds like we should be pooling resources to me. the sppedparts box list for $6k. Others have upgrades that have been purrchased in the range of $3.5k.

I am willing to put my money into a project. But it has to be streetable. I don't think reinventing the wheel is a wise use of money. The main issue is the strength of the internal gears because the other problems have tested solutions.

-gears need to be fabbed. Billet sounds like a good idea;
-shafts need a to be connected to reduce or eliminate flex that causes the sheering of the gears. Jak indicates further down the post that this is part of some Japanese trannies already, so the concept could be designed into a saab box;
-housing plates for the axles and diff cover need to be machined from billet. Vince and Brad already have this down, but we need to pool together and request Brad and Vince to make them again (I got Vince's last diff cover, it is impressive)
-machine a number 8 primary gearset. Should be straighforward since we would use the same primary chain-it's a matter of making one like a 7 series with more teeth that fit the chain size-

all this takes is yes money and time and a willing/good machinist. but obviously people are spending their time.

like they say, you gotta pay to play. so if we all love the c900 so much then lets pull together.

roundtable at SOC?
