I have both, a modded 88 SPG & a stock (HP) viggen
It's totally possible for a modded SPG to be quicker, my SPG is :) Depending on the mods you have I would think 220-230 whp is what a C900 needs to have similar performance to a stock viggen.
Did you drive the car on the highway at all? 60 mph++?
Torque steer- this is what needs to be done to the car
-VRK, there are a few versions available & it will cost you $100-150 to reduce the torque steer by 50 ish %. I have the MP kit which includes brace, clamp & subframe brace. The subframe brace is going to be swapped to the 6pt brace :)
-I am going to try Nick's 6pt subfrme brace ($200 ish) which is suppose to really tighten up the front of the car pretty much eliminating the tramlining! I am looking forward to feeling it's impact on the chassis!
-when you get new tires, get ones with a high side load rating, 91+ preferably. My 2K viggen came with ES100's & they had horrible traction & tramlined really bad. I switched to a set of Toyo T1s's & that cut the torque steer & tramlining down by +25% & with my all season proxes 4's I experienced similar results.
The VRK totally transforms the car making it 100x's more enjoyable to drive. The rear sway bar also helps keep the back end a bit flatter & if possible I would spend the $100 on this as well.
I have been driving SPG's (mostly modified ones) since 1993 & I am extremely pleased with having a viggen as a daily car now. The versatility isn't quite as nice as a C900 however the comfort, reliability & big fat torque curve make it a blast to drive & moreso after the few pieces are added to firm things up :) I have also taken my viggen to a few drivers schools & I am extremely pleased with how it performed there as well, that is after the VRK was added. Every instructor I have had thinks it's a V6 & are very impressed with how a tall-narrow-fwd family hauler handles.
sorry for the rambling :)
