Great to talk to you! Thanks for the pointers. One thing to consider for timing mapping is to use Megasquirt, load Megasquirtnspark firmware but in numbers for fuel, but just hook up the spark stuff.
easy connections, Mod the board as if you will be using EDIS (documented on MSEFI), Connect power and ground, connect a manuifold sense line (I grabbed a tee off teh boost gage), Interrupt the wire to pin 6 of the ignition module. Send the hall signal to the MS and the output back to the ign module and voila mappable ignition. Of course you have to set the timing properly to make sure that you get a target advanced greater than your maximum advance angle. I use 40 deg. My email address is active if you want more info...
